Trainee Engineer (Manufacturing)
Location: Poole, Dorset (Tower Park)
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: £25,000 – £28,000 per annum (Depending on level of experience)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Mon – Thurs 7:30am – 4pm & Fri 7:30am - 1pm
We have just had an excellent opportunity come in for a leading, well-established manufacturing company based at Tower Park, who are looking to recruit a Trainee Engineer to join their team.
This is a very varied and interesting role where you will be working across various areas of the business to include: manufacturing, engineering, and technical support.
All training will be provided on site with the main idea being to develop your technical knowledge and skills to develop into an engineer.
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic to gain a career. We will also look at applicants who have or are working in a similar role currently who is looking new for a change in working environment.
What you will be doing;
- Supporting and improving processes
- Creating work instructions and technical documentation
- Assisting with machine setup and optimisation
- Providing technical support across the business and to customers
- Working with engineers to drive efficiency and best practice
- Getting involved wherever needed—shop floor to office
Key skills required;
- Confident with computers, particularly Excel (MRP systems experience is a bonus)
- Strong communication skills – face-to-face, phone and email
- A positive, can-do attitude with flexibility to support the wider team
- Excellent attention to detail
- Eagerness to learn and develop new skills
- A strong team player who can also use their own initiative
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- Ability to stay calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
- Previous experience within a manufacturing, engineering or technical environment, role would be advantageous
