Job Location: Poole, Dorset
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: Up to £32,000 per annum (£16.41 per hour), depending on experience
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday 7.30am - 4.00pm with a 1pm finish on a Friday

We are seeking an all-round general Machinist to join a busy workshop team of a specialist engineering company who undertake the manufacture of products and engineering works for motion systems.
This hands‑on role involves machining, repairing and modifying components to support production, maintenance, and customer requirements.
You will work from engineering drawings, ensure high standards of workmanship, and contribute to continuous improvement within the workshop.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate manual and / or CNC machines (lathes, milling machines, drills, grinders)
- Working to tight tolerances to manufacture components and parts to engineering drawings
- Set up machines, select tooling and materials
- Inspect completed work for defects and against drawings
- Assist with general workshop engineering as required including some grinding
Skills & Experience required:
- Proven experience as a Machinist
- Strong knowledge of machining processes (turning, milling, drilling)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Confident using measuring tools
- Able to read and work from drawings
- Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
