Design Engineer
Job Location: Poole, Dorset
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: Up to £38,000 per annum
Hours: Monday – Friday 8.45am – 5pm with an early finish on Friday
We are currently working alongside a well-established Manufacturer who are seeking a Design Engineer on a permanent basis to join their team.
As the Design Engineer, you will be designing specialised bespoke lifting equipment for the food and pharmaceutical industries.
Your duties will include (but not limited to):
- Concept and detail design for new and bespoke products
- 3D CAD modelling and creation of detailed part drawings using SolidWorks
- Product testing and validation, including manual calculations and FEA analysis
- Producing engineering documentation such as risk assessments, FMEA, and technical files
- Creating user manuals and technical documents using Adobe InDesign
- Liaising with customers and suppliers on technical requirements and design queries
- Supporting the technical sales team with drawings and design input
- Maintaining and improving existing product designs, including change notes and ECNR documentation
- Supporting production with design updates to optimise manufacturing and reduce costs
- Assisting in fault diagnosis and design improvements for existing products
Experience required:
- Qualifications in Technical Design or Mechanical Engineering
- Experience with SolidWorks (and Fusion desirable)
- Experience in a manufacturing engineering environment
- Strong engineering technical skills and knowledge
