Credit Controller
Job Location: Poole, Dorset
Job Type: Fixed term contract (3 – 6 months)
Salary: £30,000 - £31,000 per annum, Depending on experience
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday 8.00am – 5.00pm
A long-standing, family-owned business based in Poole are looking to recruit a Credit Controller on a 3 – 6 month contract.
As the Credit Controller, you will be managing customer accounts, collect outstanding debts, and supporting cash‑flow performance while delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and collect customer debts, prioritising accounts to minimise risk
- Act as main point of contact for customer account, invoice and payment queries
- Hold regular meetings with sales teams to resolve credit issues
- Review and assess creditworthiness of new and existing customers
- Prepare and issue customer statements, overdue reminders and reports
- Manage reconciliations, customer portals and EDI
- Monitor credit limits, credit holds and high‑value invoices
- Support month‑end invoicing and provide team cover when required
For this role you will have;
- Previous credit control experience
- Strong organisational, analytical and communication skills
- Confident IT user (Excel, Outlook, accounting systems)
- Customer‑focused, proactive and resilient
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
