CNC Operator
Job Location: Ferndown, Dorset
Job Type: Contract – 3 to 6 months
Salary: £13.00 per hour / £507 per week
Hours: 39 hours per week, Monday – Thursday 7.30am – 16.45 & Friday 7.30am – 12.30pm
We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Operator to join a well‑established manufacturing company.
The successful candidate will be working alongside the CNC Machinists to undertake the operating of CNC machinery and provide engineering support to move materials around, etching of parts, quality checking and any other task to support manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CNC machines
- Load and unload materials and components
- Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Conduct inspections using measuring equipment (verniers, micrometers, gauges)
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Adhere to health & safety and company procedures
Requirements
- Proven experience as a CNC Operator
- Experience with CNC lathes and/or machining centres
- Ability to read technical drawings
- Competent using measuring tools
- Good attention to detail and quality‑focused mindset
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or precision engineering environment
